Traditional welcome and trip to Dilli Haat (18 March 2015)Asia and I woke up around 7:00 a.m. After getting ready we had breakfast of delicious paranthas (stuffed bread) a common and the most loved Indian breakfast with sweet buttermilk and started for school . Normally it is just a 10 minutes drive from home to school but thanks to the traffic we ended up getting 10 minutes late !! On reaching school at 8:55 am, our Polish friends were extended a warm traditional welcome in school with a garland of flowers and a tilak and in return they gave us cuffs and a school tie . We had a an interactive session with our Principal , Mrs. Aditi Misra , Vice Principal Ms Santvna Thadani ,Dean Student Welfare Ms Sapna Dhawan ,Ms Anna ,Ms Mamta Kumar, Ms. Shreya Jain along with our parents . We introduced ourselves and and shared why we were a part of this exchange. Ms Anna told us about the school , their culture and the importance of the exchange from her perspective. We left for Dilli Haat by school bus .it is also known as the shoppers' paradise ! On the way learned few polish words like zen dobrey ( written in English )and a few polish tongue twisters .We reached by 10 :00am and had a lot of fun and experienced some things for the first time !! how to bargain !We were done with our shopping by 2:00pm We had dosa from the Tamil Nadu stall and steamed momos from the Nagaland stall . We left for school at 2:10 pm and on the way enjoyed the bumpy ride on the back seat reached school by 3:45 pm . In the evening we rested , tried delicious indian fish , went to bed early because the next day we had to wake up really early . I really love my partner because she is sweet and is willing to try new things. By Saundarya Chaudhary
